Company Ideas

1)   What is your business?
We sell high-end squash equipment at an affordable price

2)   Describe your business in one sentence
We sell high-end squash equipment at an affordable price to young squash players as well as professional athletes.

3)   Who is your target audience?
Professional squash players, young, up and coming squash players, athletes, coaches, recreational players.

4)   Who are your competitors?
Sports World Ltd, Sports and Games Ltd, independent sales persons (selling from home etc)

Sports World Ltd and Sports and Games Ltd, are both sporting goods stores which focus on many sports and therefore only have a small selection of squash equipment. Independent sales persons, however, suffer from a lack of advertising and resources to compete in the market.

These following questions might seem silly, but their purpose is to help generate ideas.

1)   How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
We want this company to grow locally as the number one sporting goods store for squash equipment in Trinidad and Tobago.

2)   If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
A lion cub because we need time to grow, but when we grow we will rule the industry.

3)   If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Lionel Messi because he loves what he does and is the best in the world.

4)   If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
A new Rolex watch.

5)   If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Peter, from family guy because he does what he likes to do and doesn’t care what people think.

When this project was assigned I immediately thought of creating a piece which represented where I am from and the type of life I live. A beach scene was the first idea that came to mind, and I thought what better way to depict my life than being on the beach, with some drinks and a football.

For this project I used many various tools in photoshop such as the eraser tool, lasso tool, burn tool and type tool. The hardest part of this piece was removing the objects from their background. Usually I would use the magic eraser tool, but not one image had a completely white background, which made this tool . However, I managed to push through it and was able to create an image which I believe depicts my lifestyle.

Brush assignment

For this photoshop assignment i decided to create a casual dining room setting. I started by laying down the background, which comprised of a wooden floor followed by a grainy white background to represent a painted wall. The table came next, follower by a shadow to give the image some real life effects. I then created a pick-nick themed pattern and laid it over the table to represent the dining room table, table cloth.

The wooden shelves to the rare of the image were my brush presets which I made from an image off the internet. I then added some miscellaneous  items to give the dining room image a more home like effect.

NIKE Soccer

Adobe Illustrator has been a very interesting and enjoyable way to create images which have meaning to us. For this assignment I decided to create very popular soccer boot as my main piece. I have been playing soccer, for fun from a very young age and have also competed for a club and my high school. Soccer is an outlet for me to simply relieve stress and also have some fun with my friends. I chose to create this particular boot as it has a very sleek design and modern finish to it.

Sketching out the initial image was probably the easiest part of this assignment for me. The trouble arose when it came time to use the gradient mesh tool as this image was a very intricate and detailed piece. However, I was able to pull though and produce a final product which I can proudly say is mine and share on my blog.
